Youth Equipment
We love to see kids start shooting at an early age. It is especially important to start them out right, though. Give a child inferior equipment, and he or she is bound to get frustrated, and soon give up.
We believe in giving kids good equipment so that they can enjoy this fabulous sport. Getting good equipment does not mean spending a lot.
Mathews has developed the Genesis series of bows to outfit young shooters with quality when they are at their most formative stage. Allow them to shoot well at a young age, and they will acquire a lifelong love of archery.
Here are a few of the bows we recommend, depending on the child's age and intended use:

Mini Genesis™
The Genesis Mini is a smaller version of the Original Genesis™ . It is geared toward pre-schoolers and up, we generally recommend it for kids ages 3-8, but will vary by individual.
With a 'zero-let-off', there is no set draw length, the bow weighs only 2 pounds, and has adjustable draw weights of 6 to 12 pounds.
Like the Original Genesis™ , the Mini has only one cam. This means no tuning problems, much less recoil, more accurate shooting, and less noise.
• 29 1/8" axle-to-axle length
• 6 1/8" brace height
• Adjustable draw weight 6-12 pounds
• Draw length range of 14-25 inches
• 2 pounds mass weight
• Carbon cable guard
• Four popular flavors (red cherry, blue raspberry, black licorice and camo)
• 77 11/16" string length
• 30 13/16" cable length
for more detailed information, check the Genesis website
The Mini Genesis™ is also available in a convenient kit. see below

Genesis™
Official bow of the National Archery in the Schools Program!
As we said above with the Mini, we love to see kids start learning young. For kids that are about ages 6 to 10, this is a great place to start. It fits anyone, really, with a draw length of 15 to 30" since it has no draw stop. Grandma and Grandpa can pick up this bow and shoot with the kids, too, without having to adjust a thing!
The Genesis is a 'zero-let-off' bow, there is no set draw length, the bow has adjustable draw weights of 10 to 20 pounds. When the Genesis is set to 20 pounds, it stores the same amount of energy as a 35 lb recurve bow.
The new Genesis™ bow has just one cam. This means no tuning problems, much less recoil, more accurate shooting, and less noise.

- Kids can't outgrow it - because there is no specific draw length requirement.
- It's simple to buy - no need to measure and fit for draw length.
- It's easy to shoot - because the draw length is always right, the beginning archer won't develop bad habits caused by an ill-fitting bow.
- Great for families - everybody in the family can shoot the same bow.
- Built to last - durable and tough, these bows can take the punishment that multiple shooters can dish out.

Mission Craze
While the Menace is still available, we much prefer this new addition to the Mission family of bows for youth. It has higher and lower peak weights at comparable draw lengths to the Menace. It is a great bow for older kids to grow with the bow. Hunting legal at just 19". A smooth two cam bow at an affordable price. You have to shoot it to believe it.
The all-new Craze is a grand slam in bow design. No other bow on the market can brag over 40 lbs. of weight adjustment. This bow truly lives up to the hype of its name with parallel limbs, a highly-adjustable dual-cam system, a compact riser and a mere 3.6 pound of mass weight. Dig into the stats, and you’ll be even more impressed: up to 70 lbs of power, 80% let off and an ample 306 fps…all for under $300.
